About Karst wine region
Karst was apparently devastated because of cutting down the oak tree for the construction of the standing piles of Venice. It was abandoned for centuries with a little bit of vegetation, modest fields and rare vineyards.
Teran has always been appreciated for its medicinal features due to its numerous mineral substances, mostly bivalent iron and lactic acids. It is believed to stimulate the appetite and facilitate digestion as well as in the moderate and regular consumption maintain the flexibility of blood vessels and inhibit the progression of atherosclerosis as well as the aging process itself with its very high level of antioxidants.
Every August there is a festival of Teran and prosciutto.
